Co-Worker Really Needs to Work on Attitude

18:28 Jun 29 2023
Times Read: 192

Oh, boy. They did it, again. My co-worker decided to give Bear attitude AGAIN for something stupid THEY WERE GOING TO DO.

Bear was back in receiving throwing away some garbage into the compactor. After he was done, he locked the door and turned on the compactor. Our co-worker goes back there with some more garbage and tries to open the door. One thing to note is that you should NEVER open the compactor door when it's on. If you do everything in the compactor will spill out the other end into our docking area and then we'll all have to spend more time than we want to cleaning it up. Bear tells the co-worker, very politely, not to open the door because he just turned it on. Instead of just apologizing our co-worker gets a huge ass attitude. He literally tells Bear, "don't tell me how to do my job! I know what I'm doing!"

Um... excuse the fuck out of me?! You clearly don't know what the fuck you're doing if you think you can just open up the compactor door when it's on! And why the fucking attitude?! Bear could have been an asshole, especially considering how much attitude you gave him the last time you did something stupid, but instead he was polite!

So far this is twice this co-worker has done something stupid. First, they put metal and glass in the fucking cardboard baler and now they tried to open a running compactor!

Bear's had enough of this co-worker's attitude and talked to our boss and got them removed from his department, and I don't blame him. Luckily, both incidents had witnesses. I was there with two other co-workers for the first incident and it was just Bear and one other co-worker for the incident from last night.

All I can really say is this co-worker needs to work on their attitude problem. Like how the fuck are you gonna have attitude with someone, who is normally an asshole to idiots, that is ACTUALLY being polite and letting you know the compactor is on and to not open the door before you make a huge fucking mess?!

Avatar 2

Bear saw that Avatar 2: Way of the Water was on Disney+ yesterday and wanted to watch it with me. I said I would watch it but we needed to get some snacks (ice cream, chips, drinks) from the gas station down the street from our apartment. So we went and got some stuff before watching the movie.

Overall, the movie was really good. Like 9.5/10 would recommend. The only reason it's not a 10/10 is because on of the characters pissed me off and if you've seen the movie you might know who (and no, it ain't the villain of the movie). But I did enjoy it, despite how long it was.

Big News

05:20 Jun 18 2023
Times Read: 257

For all my readers, new and old, I have big news.

If you've been reading my journal you'd know I've been with Bear for almost 2 1/2 years. We've had our issues and almost broke up a few times but we managed to work through them and stay together.

Well... yesterday Bear finally proposed to me!

We went to pick up my ring from his uncle's store and went to a different city afterwards to pick up his contacts and some food for my rat and tarantula. When we were walking to the Visionworks to get his contacts he suggested we go to Olive Garden after getting the stuff we needed and I agreed. So after we got the pets' food we walked down to Olive Garden since it was just up the street. Since it was only 10 am they we still closed so we decided to walk around the mall it was next to for a little bit until it opened.

When we got in the mall we decided to go to two different stores separately to look around, I went to a book store and he want to this game store right across from it. I saw a Divergent box set I really wanted but didn't purchase it right away just in case I saw something I else I liked more in a different store. I went across to the game store and saw Bear looking at a couple of large Pokémon prints. We did end up immediately purchasing two of them (an Umbreon and a shiny Vulpix) as well as a large Naruto print Bear liked.

We then saw a little like kiosk that had different types of jewelry. Bear was looking at the earrings and asking questions. He did end buying a pair and got a free double helix piercing with them. He looks great with them I just wished they didn't use a piercing gun.

While he was getting pierced I noticed a Hot Topic on the second floor and wanted to check it out. We went up after he was done and looked around. I saw a couple of pj sets (Gir and Kuromi) and a couple of skirts and tops I liked but I didn't buy them. Bear got a couple of earrings for the lobe piercing he has.

We were ready to go back to Olive Garden since it was finally time for it to open but we stopped by the bookstore I was at when we first entered the mall and I bought the Divergent box set. After that we walked across the parking lot to the restaurant. When we sat down we ordered a couple of drinks. He got some wine and since I don't drink any sort of alcoholic beverage outside of the comfort of our apartment I just got a raspberry iced tea. The server gave us some time to look over our menus and when they left Bear got up and went to talk to them with the ring box in hand. He handed them the ring box and came back to our people. I'll admit I was curious to know what he was planning since I already knew he was going to propose but I didn't know when.

After we ordered I got up to go to the bathroom and when I came back he had the server adding cheese to my pasta (he knows me so well). When the food came we ate (I only took a few bites before I started feeling full). I thought the proposal would have came by then since we don't normally get desert or anything after our meals. I thought he would have had the ring in my lemonade or my pasta but no. Bear got up to "use the restroom" while I was still eating. The server came back to box up my leftovers and ask us about desert. I told them Bear may want to order some when he gets back from "the restroom". He got back and the server showed him the desert menu and I was totally fine with that. Most of the deserts were super chocolatey and Bear does not like chocolate. He ordered a desert for us to share and we sat talking while waiting for it to come out.

A few minutes later our server came out with all the other servers holding out desert with the ring box on it. They set the plate down and there was a slice of tiramisu and the words "will you marry me?" written under it with little hearts surrounding them. That's when Bear got up from his seat, came to my side of the table, dropped down on one knee and proposed. He only needed two sentences to share his feelings about me and I almost cried when I said yes.

I have picture of the ring, plate and a video taken by one of the servers of what happened after I said yes up on Instagram (@THERavenBlasphemy). Needless to say this was the happiest day of my life and I will always remember it and his proposal.

MY NEW CONTACTS FINALLY CAME IN!!!

17:51 Jun 12 2023
Times Read: 279

So last month I went in to have my eyes checked since I haven't had an eye exam since like elementary school. When I went I told the doc I was interested in getting eye contacts so after the exam he helped me put in my first pair and told me what to do take care of them and how to put them in/take them out.

Anyway, like a week or two of having them I was trying to put my right contact in when it decided to fall off my finger and just disappear. So for the past couple of weeks I've had to wear my glasses since I was still waiting for my other contacts to come in. Well, Saturday I got an email from my apartment complex saying that there was a package waiting for me down in the office. Seeing as the office was already closed when I saw the email I had to wait until today to go down and see.

So, I went down today like half an hour after the office opened to see what package was waiting for me. When I told the staff member that was working in the office she handed me a box and I already knew just from what it said on the box that it was my new contacts! I was so happy because I was seriously about to the call place I went to and ask where they were. Bear and I had our eye exams the same day and we both ordered contacts but his were ready to be picked up from the place he went to like two weeks ago and I was still waiting for mine to be shipped.

Anyway, I can finally wear my contacts again and see without having to wear my glasses.

First Week Back to Work

08:22 Jun 12 2023
Times Read: 294

My first week back to work was...decent-ish... I was super tired because my sleep schedule was destroyed during my vacation and it was hard getting it back. I had to make two pallets this week and Saturday I had to add some cartons to one of them. We just keep getting an excessive amount of cartons for one item. It's ridiculous but it helps me practice making pallets. I haven't had to make one in months and especially not by myself. I guess so long as we have space to fly the pallets, it's fine.

Anyway, Friday Bear ran out of money on his bus pass because they raised the prices so he had to borrow some money from a coworker. When we got on the bus to go home Saturday morning the bus driver saw his bus pass in his wallet and said something to him. I don't what know or why because he was paying cash. She said something about a photo or something and she was giving Bear hella attitude! Like she was super rude! She should have been paying more attention to the people coming on her bus and how they pay. She was so busy giving Bear attitude she didn't notice I scanned my bus pass and Bear had to go up and rescan with it so I was essentially scanned off the bus. Oh, well, her fault.

Then, Sunday morning as Bear and I were throwing trash away at work we noticed there was Styrofoam and plastic in the cardboard baler. Turns out one of the newer hires wasn't paying attention and accidentally put it in there. But that's not the only thing they put in there. They also put a box that had a GLASS PLATE IN IT! That is why you need to PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU'RE LOADING INTO THE BALER! If someone else had thrown stuff in without looking and started the baler that glass plate would have shattered and shot glass out at the person. The person was called back Bear asked why that stuff was in there they gave him so much fucking attitude. Bear told our boss about it and he said he'd talk to them about it. Bear and I went to clock out and he saw the idiot in the training room and told them that our boss needed to talk to him. Cue even more attitude. And as Bear left to grab his stuff from the front of the store the idiot said one thing they're lucky Bear didn't hear. "At least I stay and don't leave early, (Bear)!" Dumb ass, we leave early because we finished our shit early and our boss said we were good to leave! Not to mention we try to do our jobs quickly (but still efficiently) because we have TO TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION HOME! Not everyone has the privilege of living near their work place or having a car! Like how stupid do you have to be to not get that? And the fact that he's seen me and Bear leave work and walk to the bus stop.

Grrrrr....

WHY ARE PEOPLE SO FUCKING STUPID?! At least it's my day off so I get to sit at home with Bear and watch Aggretsuko on Netflix.

T-Mobile pt 2

Bear just got off the phone with T-Mobile customer service. After threatening a lawsuit they knocked our bill down $120. The thing is are they actually done screwing us? When I get the message with my amount for the new billing cycle next month the amount be around $170. Not $260. Not $350. Not $760. $170 or Bear will raise hell and we will be switching to Verizon.

I should be asleep right now, but Bear is currently trying to figure out why T-Mobile is screwing us over for the FOURTH TIME IN A ROW!!!! FOUR TIMES we have had to call T-Mobile to fix our phone bill and FOUR TIMES it hasn't been fixed! After the last time we were reassured that we would only be paying around $170 dollars a month on our phone bill. When the new bill came in that's due at the end of the month it's around $260! We are extremely pissed! They keep saying they'll take off any unnecessary charges but they come right back the next billing period! At this point we might just find a new phone carrier because this is getting ABSOLUTELY FUCKING RIDICULOUS!!!!

So...Tired

00:59 Jun 06 2023
Times Read: 347

I have to return to work tomorrow so Bear woke me up at around 3AM so that I would be tired enough to sleep during the day and return to my normal sleep schedule. That....didn't work very well. I went back to sleep at around 8AM and woke up at around 1PM and couldn't get back to sleep after that. So...yeah...I'm sleepy.

My dad's birthday was yesterday. I tried to call him and when he didn't answer I just texted him. He did respond so that's good. Like I said in my last entry, while I don't fear my own death I fear the deaths of those I care about such as my dad, Bear and my beloved pets. So knowing my dad is still around gives me a little peace of mind.

Not only was it my father's birthday yesterday but it was also the birthday of another VR user, OldSoul! So happy belated birthday, OldSoul! I know messaged you but a shoutout couldn't hurt. I hope you had an amazing birthday, celebrating it with the ones you love!

Loss

19:20 Jun 04 2023
Times Read: 382

I was reading the lovely, and hilarious, Vampirewitch39's journals (keep in mind I'm going from oldest to newest) and there's an entry from July 2007 that made me stop and think.

In this entry she talks about the people her and other members of her family have lost. And it just got me thinking... We all experience loss. The loss of a friend, a family member, a beloved pet. I'm 21 and have had my fair share of deaths, both human and not. (Sorry if this gets kinda long)

I had my first experience with death when I was 5. And I can hear some of you older folks "ThE lIoN kInG dOn'T cOuNt". While I may have seen it before this happened, I don't remember it being my first experience with death. When I was 5 years old I lost my older brother in a car accident. He was only 16. It upset me when I found out because I looked up to my brother.

When I was 17 I lost my grandmother. She had dementia, as well as, other medical conditions. My grandmother raised me since I was 6 months old. When she died we were struggling with homelessness and both me and my younger brother were minors at them so who knows where we would have gone if we didn't have our egg donor with us. My grandmother was a strong, smart woman that deserved to die in a bed, not the front seat of a mini van.

As for my pets. I've lost 2 sugar gliders, 2 tarantulas, a lizard and a rat. Each cut deep because my pets are my family. I love like they are my children.

The entry didn't just have me thinking about my past losses but also what I can still stand to lose. My father's birthday is today and he's 58 and a very heavy smoker. How much time do I still have with my dad? How many birthday and holiday phone calls can I still make until I no longer have my daddy?

Bear is 11 years older than me. Even though he's 33, will he live to old age? Do I still have a lot of time with him?

What about my pets? My remaining rat is almost 2. Rats don't live very long, you're lucky if they live to be 3. How long do I still have with mine? Is her time coming soon?

And my ferret? Will she live a full, happy, healthy life? The breeders she came from aren't know for having the healthiest ferrets. Will she end up getting sick and passing away before she reaches 5 years?

How long do I still have with my tarantula? Will my tortoise live a full 150 years?

While I'm not worried about my death, in fact, when my time comes I will welcome it with open arms. I am scared to lose those around me I care so much about. Each death is just another knife plunged into my heart.

Those very thoughts are why to me it is important to live each day like it is our last with the loved ones we have. To never take a moment for granted and to take as many pictures and make as many memories as I can with them. Those thoughts can be very haunting and crippling if we allow them to be. I totally understand your fear of loss.

To me loss is like a chapter in a book. Its a turn point. You are seeing the value of those whom you love, both human and non human. And yes- they are family as much as any human can be. Just keep each day open to telling those you love that very thing. Don't let anyone leave your sight without a quick "love you" or a pet, a cuddle to your heart.

:)

I lost my sister less then two years ago, our family fur baby less then a year after 17 years. I morn them but then I try to remember the love. They bring loss in your heart when they leave, but they give so much while they are in your life. Its up to us to treasure the gift that is them.

We have a rule in our house. Never go to bed angry. Also the last words my family hears come from my mouth before bed or when we are leaving one another is I love you... never good by but always I love you. It is just my way of doing things of course. If something were to happen to me, I would want them to remember that being the last thing I tell them... and likewise I would want to know that was the last thing they heard me tell them.
